The on-site commander assigns tasks to the emergency
response forces
Participants in the exercise included: the Department
of Science and Technology, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial
Police, the Department of Health, facilities conducting radiation work and
related agencies and units.
To carry out the task of the radiation emergency
response exercise and nuclear emergency response exercise in Dong Nai Province
in 2024, the Department of Science and Technology organized a training course
and drill on radiation and nuclear emergency response from November 20-23,
2024. After completing the theoretical content of radiation emergency response,
the entire radiation emergency response force and nuclear emergency response
force of the province conducted an emergency response drill with
"Situation of radioactive source detected at scrap iron and steel facility".
This is a comprehensive drill program, aimed at combining the application of
theory and practical content during the training process to apply in practice.
The practice program will contribute to improving the understanding and
practical experience of the emergency response forces in the province.

The drill with a hypothetical emergency
situation: people were dismantling scrap at a scrap facility located at 5
Nguyen Ai Quoc Street, Tan Phong Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province as
usual, discovered a small metal cylinder with a yellow radioactive warning
label that had been removed from an old device, and immediately reported it to
the authorities. Upon receiving the information, the radiation safety officer
of the Department of Science and Technology immediately went down to inspect
the scene and determined that this was an emergency situation, so he reported
to the Provincial Command to deploy a provincial emergency response plan....
