​Checking and Evaluating the Implementation Progress of Research Topics Hosted by Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve Update: 06-12-2023
​On the morning of October 31, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with relevant departments, organizations to form a delegation to inspect and evaluate the progress of the implementation of two projects hosted by Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve. These projects are "Research on Conservation and Development of Genetic Resources of Nervilia fordii (Hance) Schlechter in Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve" and "Research on Conservation and Development of Genetic Resources of Muskrat Species at Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve".​
 


The project leader reports on the implementation progress of the projects

The research project on conservation and development of genetic resources of Nervilia fordii (Hance) Schlechter (single-leaf orchid) has the implementation period from October 2022 to February 2026, with the goal of investigating and assessing the current status, distribution and reserves of single-leaf orchid species in at the conserve; researching plant characteristics and analyzing active pharmaceutical ingredients of single-leaf orchids; researching and developing procedures for breeding and cultivating single-leaf orchids; and safely planting and conserving genetic resources of wild single-leaf orchid species.

According to the project leader, up to now the team has completed a number of contents, such as general research, construction of explanations and estimates, investigating and evaluating the current status, distribution and reserves of single-leaf orchid species in the conserve; conducting initial examinations, opening routes, and building field investigation points, etc.

Meanwhile, with the topic "Research on Conservation and Development of Genetic Resources of the Muskrat Species in Dong Nai Nature and Culture Conserve", the project implementation period is between October 2022 and November 2027. Up to now, contents, such as collecting relevant documents and maps have been implemented; assessing the current status, distribution range, plant and ecological characteristics, collecting muskrat genetic resources in the conserve for storage purposes; building scientific product reports. Meanwhile, the team is collecting specimens of the muskrat species for the purpose of storage and display.

At the meeting, Doan Tan Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, head of the inspection team noted the workload and recommendations of the team; at the same time, requesting the project leaders to complete the report contents as requested by the inspection team. Leader of the Department of Science and Technology assigned specialized departments and divisions of the Department to coordinate with the project team to speed up the progress of the project in accordance with the requirements and explanations of the tasks ordered by province.
