Proposed tasks to promote intellectual property in the province

On the afternoon of August 21, 2025, Mr. Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, chaired a working session with ALIAT Law Company Limited (Ho Chi Minh City) on the implementation of tasks for intellectual property development in the province.

Before merging with Binh Phuoc, the old Dong Nai was implementing the following tasks: “Creating, managing and developing the certification marks of ‘Vinh Cuu-Dong Nai Green-Skin Pomelo’ for green-skin pomelo products of Vinh Cuu district and ‘Tan Phu - Dong Nai Green-Skin Pomelo’ for green-skin pomelo products of Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province”; “Creating, managing and developing the certification mark of ‘Tan Phu - Dong Nai Durian’ for durians of Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province; and Establishing, managing and developing the certification mark of Lam San-Cam My Pepper’, Cam My District, Dong Nai Province.”
After the merger of Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai into the new Dong Nai province, ALIAT Law Company Limited proposed to continue performing these tasks. Particularly, the task of establishing, managing and developing the certification mark of "Lam San - Cam My Pepper", the company proposed to adjust it into the task of “Establishing, managing and developing the certification mark of ‘Lam San - Dong Nai Pepper’ for pepper products of Dong Nai province.”

ALIAT Law Company Limited also proposed a number of potential tasks for the 2025-2026 period such as: Establishing, managing and developing new community brands; Improving the efficiency of management - exploitation - development of community brands used for agricultural products and specialties with competitive advantages in the province; Registering intellectual property rights for the trademark of “Binh Phuoc Cashew Nuts” for cashew products of Dong Nai province and the trademark "Lam San Pepper-Dong Nai” to foreign markets.
In addition, the company also proposed a number of contents that the company can cooperate with Dong Nai province from 2025 such as: knowledge training; detecting and handling intellectual property infringements; supporting businesses in designing and registering for common trademark protection; registering to establish rights, commercializing inventions/utility solutions/copyrights of research works, and so on.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the contents that need to be updated and adjusted after changing administrative boundaries for geographical indications, trademarks, etc.; issues of concern in the field of intellectual property for local businesses, potential cooperation between the province, businesses and consulting company.
